Team Building Opportunities in 2020

New Opportunities for Team Building in 2020

In our last article, I wrote about the challenges facing businesses in the oncoming months. In a post-pandemic world, we are looking at communication challenges and increased demands from bosses. But in this article, I would like to present a more optimistic perspective for the future of team building. Here I will be covering the opportunities we face to make our workplaces the most appealing places to work.

Team building is changing. New opportunities for team building are emerging and we have the internet, clever people, and a coronavirus to thank for it. So we can take advantages of the resources coming out to help aid a remote, and COVID-safe, workplace.

Remote Team Building

Any team building company that wants to keep their doors open will need to incorporate new remote technology into their service list. The internet connects billions of people across the planet, this is an invaluable resource that we often overlook. So, it is a must that we adapt accordingly to provide products and services to a global marketplace.

Zoom

Everyone’s go-to online video conferencing platform. Many team building companies have been using Zoom to facilitate trivia nights, online game shows, and problem-solving games. Integrating Zoom with other sharing platforms like Google docs, Facebook, and Explain Everything can create interactive experiences offering personalised user control.

Google Meetings

Google Meetings are a must to foster the team spirit on a more regular basis. Simply schedule a Google calendar event and it will automatically add a Google Meet option. Remind your team that you’re all in it together, schedule an online video meeting at least once a week. Devote this time to having a human interaction with your team. Make them feel valued, even if from a distance.

Remote Team Building

Of course, there is our first class, one of a kind Remote Team Building game. Yes, it is unique, yes it is awesome, yes, it is competitively priced. Need we say more?

New Opportunities for The Human Connection

Facilitating the human connection but safely, and from a distance. In a remote, and digital era our human connections can easily be overlooked. Team building will need to focus on our shared humanity with greater focus. So, there must be a focus not only on trust between teammates, but trust between differing power dynamics. Employers will need to learn to trust not only the people they hire, but themselves to hire people they trust.

Team building will focus on effective communication. Games that facilitate creativity and expression will aid in self-trust. This helps people speak their mind, and stand for their beliefs. When working from home it is important that employees feel confident in communicating their boundaries. Team building that promotes creativity will help facilitate effective communication.

New Opportunities for Banana Life 2020 and Beyond

We are developing new products and services to accommodate the shift in culture that is demanded of us. We are excited to re-open our doors and start in-person team building again. But this time it will be a little different. Here is how we plan to change our approach.

Graffiti Art

Foster creativity and communication with our most colourful team building experience.

Graffiti Art will focus on teams creatively crafting a shared image. The great thing about our Graffiti Art experience is that it has teams suit up in gloves and face masks, so it is already super COVID-safe already! Mix that with airy outdoor settings, and beautiful weather and you have a “welcome back to work” experience that will establish a shared image, and connection, for you team.

Remote Team Building

For teams that will be taking a more permanent remote work role, it will be important to continue to build connections and incite play. Our remote team building experience makes use of first-class software to host online Pictionary, trivia, karaoke, categories, debates, and more from the comfort of our own homes.

The Lite Game

The Lite Game is an app-driven outdoor, scavenger hunt, experience. We were already offering the Lite Game prior to COVID-19 so transitioning to updated SafeWork practices has been relatively straight-forward. We build you a specific experience that will have your teams working together to earn points against other teams. The fun is in the interaction, our game facilitates communication, collaboration, and competition.

Mindfulness Game

In response to the oncoming Mental Health epidemic, we are developing a remote Mindfulness Game. Much like our Classic Mindfulness Game this remote version will facilitate safe mindfulness practises through online video conferencing. We also use our game-app to deliver live updates, games, goals, and rewards to facilitate learning and engagement during the experience. Check it out here.

We are looking forward to tackling the challenges of a post COVID-19 world as well as embracing the new opportunities it presents.

So far we have found that we can adapt and be flexible to the demands at hand.  We can’t wait to showcase our unique appealing style in a new way and with new experiences.
