Case Study: Diabetes Australia

Graffiti Art team building for Diabetes Australia was a perfect way to kick-off a new culture strategy across the Organisation.

THE CLIENT

Diabetes Australia is a leading health organisation focused on supporting those living with diabetes.

To bring together employees from across the country, the organisation hosted a series of unique events in cities across Australia.

The day’s goal was simple: connect employees from within their regions, build stronger relationships, and spark collaboration in a fun and meaningful way.

Additionally, to unite the DA team through a shared experience – underpinned by their Values.

The idea was to strengthen connections across states and remind everyone of the power of collaboration, both in the office and beyond.

THE EVENT

  • What: Graffiti Art Team Building
  • Who: Diabetes Australia staff, including health professionals, support personnel, and senior leadership

THE EXPERIENCE

Each group was made up of 3-4 individuals, combining their different ideas, skills, and creative inputs to design an artwork that represented their collective energy and the organisation’s mission and values.

It was amazing to see how different personalities and ideas came together, from abstract designs to more meaningful representations of the work everyone does in healthcare.

The group dynamic naturally encouraged communication, collaboration, and a bit of friendly competition.

As the day went on, participants naturally started helping each other, bouncing ideas off one another, and getting excited about the creative process.

At the end of the day, several stunning group canvases were unveiled—each one telling a unique story of teamwork and creativity. The experience wasn’t just about making art; it was about building stronger bonds between colleagues from across the organisation, with everyone contributing to the final result.

IMPACT ON THE BUSINESS

This Graffiti Art workshop did more than just produce beautiful art.

The event helped build stronger relationships between team members from different parts of the organisation.

The group murals now stand as a visible reminder of how individual contributions can come together to create something special.

For Diabetes Australia, this experience served as a powerful reminder of the importance of teamwork—showing that even in the most creative activities, everyone’s input plays a valuable role in the bigger picture.

We’re also excited to report that the artworks are hanging proudly in DA Offices around Australia!
