Top 4 Team Building Venues in Brisbane

The venue does half the heavy lifting. Here are four Brisbane locations we keep coming back to — and why they work for team building.

Get connected (and maybe a little competitive) at these four ripper Brisbane locations

Here’s something we’ve learned after 14 years of running team building events across South-East Queensland: the venue does at least half the heavy lifting. Get it right and your team arrives already energised. Get it wrong and you’re fighting the room before you’ve even started.

We’ve worked in, on, and around dozens of venues across Brisbane. These four keep making the list for good reason.

Brisbane Powerhouse

If you haven’t been to the Powerhouse, you’re missing one of Brisbane’s best kept secrets. A 1920s power station reborn as an arts and events precinct on the banks of the Brisbane River — it’s got the kind of character that flat-pack conference centres just can’t buy.

With six separate function rooms, performance spaces, riverside bars, and more nooks and crannies than you can poke a scavenger hunt at, it’s genuinely one of the most versatile event spaces in the city. Add wheelchair accessibility, ample parking, and that view of the river, and you’ve got a venue that does the hard work before we’ve even plugged in the app.

Perfect for: scavenger hunts, game shows, creative challenges, and any event where you want people to walk in and immediately forget they’re at a work thing. There is ample car-parking space, wheelchair accessibility, and it’s right by the water. For more information check them out here

Victoria Park Golf Complex

Two kilometres from the CBD and somehow still feels like you’ve escaped it. Victoria Park is one of those rare Brisbane venues that works whether you want a slick indoor function or an excuse to get your team outside doing things they’ll be talking about for years.

We’ve run archery, life-size slingshots, driving range challenges, putt putt competitions, graffiti art sessions, and photo-booth missions here — often in the same afternoon. Five hectares of open space gives us room to move, and the award-winning function rooms mean you’ve got a proper base to come back to when the chaos settles.

Fair warning: someone always takes the putt putt way too seriously.

Tangalooma Island Resort

Seventy-five minutes from Brisbane CBD by ferry, a million miles from your inbox. Tangalooma sits on Moreton Island — the world’s third-largest sand island — and it is, without question, the most spectacular team building backdrop we work with.
Multiple conference and function venues. Completely unique beach location. Wild dolphins you can actually feed at dusk. And when you’re done with the dolphins, there are ATV treks into the dunes, whale watching, snorkelling, and more. We’ve designed events here for groups of over 900 people across multiple days and it never gets old.

If you want your team to arrive switched on and leave genuinely connected — get them off the mainland. We’ll even take you there.

Hotel X, Fortitude Valley

Brisbane’s most unexpectedly fun corporate venue.

Hotel X sits right in the heart of Fortitude Valley on Brunswick Street — James Street boutiques on one side, Howard Smith Wharves a short walk away — and it brings serious style to what is usually a pretty uninspiring category of event space.
Three flexible function rooms across 190 square metres, a terrace overlooking Brunswick Street, and that rooftop pool situation that makes post-event drinks feel like a genuine reward. The Bisou X space fits up to 60 for cocktail-style events, or you can configure the full ballroom for larger groups. It’s the kind of venue where the fit-out does half the storytelling for you.

We love running game shows and indoor challenges here — the space has energy, and that matters more than most people realise.

A note before you book

Whether you go CBD or island, indoors or out — keep four things front of mind: accessibility for your whole team, space to actually move around, proximity to where people are coming from, and enough time in the day to do it properly.

A great venue with a rushed run sheet is a missed opportunity.
If you’re not sure which of these suits your group best, get in touch — that’s exactly the kind of conversation we love having.
